Purpose of the PEP:
The PEP's purpose is to help the child learn, thrive in school, and achieve the best possible outcomes. It also supports communication and collaboration between the child, their carers, the education setting, and other relevant services.
Who is involved?
The PEP is the responsibility of both the child's social worker and the designated practitioner from the education setting. The social worker should consult with the child's carers and parents, who are encouraged to attend the PEP meeting
How often to review
PEPs should be reviewed at least once per term, or more if there are concerns about the child's education.
What is included
The PEP includes the child's views and wishes, information about their educational progress and targets for the following term.
How to access the PEPAll PEPs are managed through Welfare Call. The Welfare Call system allows both social workers and DTs to set meeting dates and review previous PEPs. Once complete, the PEP should be downloaded, and a copy given to carers. Click on the image opposite to log into Welfare Call with your own Log in details provided by the Virtual School.
