Listening Ear Support - SHINE for love and loss

listening ear

Shine: loved and lost

SHINE is your chance to remember those you have loved and lost whilst at the same time helping others to flourish.

SHINE lets their memory live on and helps raise valuable funding to support the development of Listening Ear's services.

Listening Ear is a successful partnership between our board, our staff, our volunteers, those who contract for our services, those who use them and those who support us with grants and fundraising.

If you are a company and are able to sponsor our work, please take a look at how you can help.

Our development as a charity and growing social enterprise means we can support more children, young people and adults during some of the most difficult times of their lives. When you support us with a donation, sponsorship or fundraising, it means we can deliver more free services for those who are most in need in our communities.

You'll be helping people like:

  • Mark, who is a war veteran. His anger issues led to him to seriously assaulting his father and eventually almost cost him his job. Through Listening Ear's VIDA occupational health counselling service, Mark accessed support and now describes himself as 'a different person'.
  • Heidi, whose son Stefan took his own life aged 21, whilst studying at University. Listening Ear's AMPARO service provided practical and emotional support to Heidi within 24 hrs of referral. Heidi is a passionate campaigner for student mental health. You can watch the BBC 3 documentary 'Death on Campus: Our Stories' featuring Heidi's story here.
