Together for Adoption is a regional agency that integrates five local authorities - Cheshire West and Chester, Halton, St Helens, Warrington and Wigan. Our work involves:

  • finding families for children who need to be placed for adoption.
  • supporting children and families before, during and after adoption.
  • recruiting and assessing adults to be adopters for our children.
  • support for adopted adults and birth parents.

Together for Adoption has just one aim: to find the best adoptive parents and families for the children currently in our care.

You may also be able to apply for the  Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund (ASGSF)

The Together for Adoption team can assess each child and family's needs and advise whether an application to the fund is recommended. . This can be used to buy additional therapeutic services such as:

  • play therapy, therapeutic life story work, theraplay based interventions, music therapy and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR).
  • family support sessions and therapeutic parenting support.
  • additional support directed by a clinical psychologist.
